An AI receptionist for Sydney businesses
Sydney jobs are spread out, and a good part of the day goes on driving between them. While you're behind the wheel, your AI receptionist takes the call, checks the caller is in your area, and books them into a free time in your calendar, on Sydney time.
Example call: a car that won't start in Castle Hill
Your customer rings your business number.
Example call to Kurrajong Mobile Mechanics, a fictional business. Your customer, Hannah, rings your business number about: Clicks, won't start, Castle Hill NSW. Your AI receptionist answers on the first ring, asks the suburb, the make and model, and where the car is parked, then books Tomorrow 7:30am and reads it back. Hannah gets a text: Hi Hannah, Kurrajong Mobile Mechanics is booked for tomorrow at 7:30am at 9 Showground Rd, Castle Hill, for your Corolla. Reply here if anything changes. You get an email: New booking: Hannah, 0491 570 062. 2015 Corolla clicks but won't start, in the driveway. 9 Showground Rd, Castle Hill. Tomorrow 7:30am.

Built for the drive between jobs
In a city this spread out, where a job is matters as much as what it is. So the script asks for the suburb early and works from there.
Your service area, checked first
Give us the suburbs and regions you cover, say the Hills, the Inner West and Parramatta. Callers outside them are told politely, and their details still come to you in case you want the work.
Travel time stays blocked
It offers only the open slots in your calendar. Block out the drive between areas and it won't book a job on top of it.
Access details before you arrive
Unit number, where to park, a gate or building code, which entrance. You choose the questions, and the answers are in the summary, so you aren't ringing back from the kerb.
Decide at the next stop
Each summary leads with the job, the suburb and the caller's number, so when you pull up you can see what's worth the trip and what can wait.
On Sydney time, through daylight saving
NSW runs on Australian Eastern time and puts its clocks forward an hour from the first Sunday in October to the first Sunday in April. Your receptionist keeps the same clock you do.
- It answers and books in your calendar's time zone, which we set to Sydney time, so a caller asking for 8 tomorrow gets 8 in Sydney.
- Because the calendar follows Sydney time, the clocks changing in October and April doesn't move anything you've already booked.
- OP Digital is in Perth, two hours behind you in winter and three during daylight saving. We book your set-up calls inside your business hours, not ours.
- We don't have a Sydney office and won't pretend to. The build, the script review and later changes all happen over the phone and online.
Keep your 02 number
Your number is already on the van, the website and your Google listing, whether it's an 02 landline or a mobile. It stays. Calls divert from that number to the receptionist, and the caller's own number comes through with them, so the confirmation text reaches the right phone and the summary has a number you can ring back.
If you'd still like to answer some calls yourself, most phone plans let you divert only the calls you don't pick up. You take the ones you can, and the receptionist answers the rest.
What we ask you for
Setting it up for a Sydney business mostly comes down to where you'll go and when. We work through it with you on the set-up call.
- The suburbs and regions you cover, and the ones you don't.
- How long you allow between jobs, so you can block it out in your calendar.
- The questions you'd ask on the phone yourself, in your own words.
- Your Google or Outlook calendar, and who should get the summary emails.
- Which jobs count as urgent for you, so they're marked at the top of the email.

Questions owners ask
Do you have an office in Sydney?
No. We're a Perth business and set up Sydney clients over the phone and online. We book set-up calls in your business hours, and you approve the script before anything goes live.
Can it tell callers which suburbs I cover?
Yes. We load your service area into the script. If someone rings from outside it, the receptionist says so and takes their details anyway, so you can decide whether the job is worth the drive.
Will bookings be on Sydney time during daylight saving?
Yes. It books in your calendar's time zone, set to Sydney time, so bookings follow the clock change in October and April like everything else on your phone.
Can I keep my 02 number?
Yes. You keep the number you have and divert calls to the receptionist. The caller's number still comes through, so they get their confirmation text and you get a number to call back.
Can it put an urgent caller through to me?
Yes, once we've set it up: urgent callers are put through to your phone, and we test that with you on a real call before launch. Anything you'd rather not take live is marked urgent and the summary lands in your inbox the moment the call ends.
Will it quote my call-out fee?
Only if you've approved a script that includes it. Otherwise it notes what they need and says you'll confirm the price yourself, so nobody hears a figure you didn't sign off.
